See your clients more clearly, sooner, without losing the human connection.
Coaching is intimate work. But it can also feel foggy: clients struggle to put feelings into words, patterns are hard to see, and you spend the first few sessions just trying to understand what’s really going on. The MIPI Coaching App is a research-backed way to bring that picture into focus, so you can spend more time helping and less time guessing.
Coaching is often about working with people you can’t fully see yet.
When a new client arrives, you’re doing three things at once. You’re listening to their story. You’re noticing how they tell it. And quietly, in the background, you’re trying to sense what hasn’t been said yet.
Clients often don’t have precise language for what they’re feeling. They circle around it. They apologise for “rambling”. They minimise. They try to impress you. You see courage and hurt and hope in their demeanor, but the patterns that explain it all sit just out of reach.
So you do what good coaches always do: you take your time. You test hypotheses. You hold space. You slowly piece together a map of their emotional, social, and motivational world.
None of this is a problem. It’s the heart of the work. But it’s also why many coaches quietly wish they had just a little more clarity sooner — not to rush the process, but to orient it.
Most assessments show you numbers. They don’t show you the person.
There’s no shortage of tools that sort people into boxes. Types, colours, letters, animals. They can be fun, sometimes useful — but they rarely answer the question that matters most in a live coaching session:
“Given what this human being is going through, why are they reacting this way — and what could help them next?”
- Emphasize fixed traits or “types”.
- Give you numbers without the client’s actual context.
- Segregate emotional, social, and motivational aspects.
- Offer language that can feel clinical or judgemental.
- Leave you translating complex results into human terms on the fly.
- A map of how emotion, connection, and motivation interact.
- Scores that are directly connected to goals and situations.
- Language that feels safe to share with clients.
- Guidance on where to start, not just a bunch of numbers.
- Support for your intuition, not a replacement for it.
A clearer picture of your client — without turning them into a “type”.
The MIPI Coaching App is built around personal intelligence — how people understand emotions, connect with others, and sustain motivation. It doesn’t tell you who your client is. It helps you see how they’re navigating their inner world, so you can support them with more precision and compassion.
A research-backed companion for your sessions.
Underneath the app is the MIPI — a validated measure of personal intelligence that looks at ten coachable competencies. In practice, they fall into three families. Each competency sits on a continuum. In the descriptions below, “on the left” and “on the right” simply refer to different parts of that range — each with its own strengths and tendencies, not better or worse.
How your client notices, understands, and works with feelings.
Hover or tap a competency to explore what it describes.
How your client belongs, performs, and makes decisions through social spaces.
Hover or tap a competency to explore how it shows up socially.
How your client sustains effort, believes in change, and motivates others.
Hover or tap a competency to explore how it shapes follow-through.
The MIPI doesn’t rank people as better or worse. It helps you see how emotional, social, and motivational capacities are organised for each client, so you can decide where to begin, what to protect, and what to gently rebalance over time.
It doesn’t replace you. It simply gives you a clearer starting point, so your presence and judgement can go further.
“That seems like a lot.”
It is — because people are deep, complicated, and shaped by more than one thing at a time. A full picture means you aren’t guessing in the dark or relying on one narrow trait to understand a client’s inner world.
But you don’t have to hold all ten competencies in your head. The Coaching App organises the whole landscape for you and highlights what’s most relevant in the moment.
And the integrated AI assistant quietly handles much of the interpretive legwork. It draws connections, notices patterns you might not have time to scan for, and explains its reasoning in plain language — so you learn as you go.
Over time, most coaches find that the app trains their intuition. The more you use it, the more natural the framework becomes.
How the app changes your sessions.
Every feature of the MIPI Coaching App exists to make certain coaching moments easier, safer, and more effective. Here are some of the shifts coaches typically feel:
What it’s like to work with the MIPI Coaching App.
The app is organised around a few core spaces you’ll move between as you support clients. Use the tabs below to see how each one fits into your practice. On mobile, tap each tab to explore.
Sending assessments
Intake doesn’t have to mean spreadsheets and copy-pasted emails. From inside the app, you can invite clients to complete the MIPI with just a few steps:
- Paste or type in a list of email addresses.
- Send invitations with a single action.
- See who has started, finished, or might need a nudge.
- Watch results appear automatically in your dashboard.
This becomes your intake workflow: one place to send, track, and receive the information you need to begin real work together.
Clients & groups
Once clients begin completing the MIPI, the app keeps your practice organised without feeling heavy:
- See who has completed their assessment at a glance.
- Identify clients who haven’t started yet and send gentle reminders.
- Create groups for programmes, cohorts, classes, or teams.
- Lay the groundwork for group-level insights and pre/post comparisons.
If you work with leadership cohorts, literacy groups, or training programmes, this becomes your “birds-eye view” of emotional, social, and motivational patterns across the whole group.
Results view
The results view is where your client’s profile comes together in one place:
- Ten competencies laid out on a six-band hextile scale.
- Colour-coded bars to highlight where attention may be needed.
- Tap-to-expand explanations written in plain, shareable language.
- Underlying item responses when you want to go a layer deeper.
Many clients feel relief just seeing their internal world mapped like this. It gives you a concrete starting point: “Here’s what seems most important right now. How does that land for you?”
Validity & response style
How someone approaches an assessment can be just as informative as what they score. The validity section helps you understand this gently:
- Omitted items and unusual response patterns.
- Signs of strong self-presentation or optimism.
- Timing indicators for rushed or very slow completions.
- Consistency checks across sections of the assessment.
- Short, plain-language summaries of what these patterns might mean — always as possibilities, never as accusations.
This is especially helpful with anxious, perfectionistic, or people-pleasing clients who want to “get it right” rather than be fully honest at first.
Aspiration Canvas
Numbers are not enough. Before you dive into scores, the Aspiration Canvas helps you gather the pieces that make your client who they are:
You can customise the questions in each tab, reuse prompts that work well for you, and tailor them for particular programmes or clients.
The context you build here becomes part of how the app (and the AI assistant) “thinks” about your client’s profile. It’s a way of saying: “These numbers only matter in light of this person’s actual life.”
AI coaching assistant
The AI assistant sits beside you as a thinking partner. It doesn’t talk to your clients; it talks to you. You can use it in two main ways:
- Talk to it as a coach — ask for help understanding patterns, possible coaching directions, or ways to phrase difficult questions.
- Quote your client — paste in something your client said and ask, “What feels important here?”
When you quote a client, the assistant doesn’t just paraphrase. It highlights possible signals in what they’re saying — for example:
- “Vulnerability signal”
- “Shame signal”
- “Avoidance signal”
- “Over-responsibility signal”
These signals are not diagnoses or verdicts. They’re gentle flags saying, “You may want to slow down here. There’s something tender beneath these words.”
The app will periodically remind you that AI is a lens, not an authority. You decide what resonates, what to ignore, and what to bring (or not bring) into the room with your client.
What you and your clients actually receive.
Each completed MIPI assessment can generate different views of the same story: one for your client, one for you as the coach, and one for programmes or teams. Use the tabs below to explore them.
Client Feedback Report
A gentle, plain-language summary your client can keep. It explains their emotional, social, and motivational patterns without jargon or judgement.
- Introduces personal intelligence in everyday language.
- Shows where they tend to lean across the ten competencies.
- Frames every pattern as something to work with, not something “wrong”.
- Ends with reflection questions they can bring back to session.
Many clients reread this between sessions — it becomes a grounding reference point, not just a one-off PDF.

Coach Wayfinder Report
A deeper, coach-facing view that links scores to coaching themes, tensions, and starting points — without prescribing a single “right” approach.
- Highlights synergies and tensions across the ten competencies.
- Suggests where to begin, what to protect, and where to be gentle.
- Includes item-level responses when you want to go a layer deeper.
- Designed to sit beside your notes and intuition, not above them.
Many coaches skim this before session, mark a few themes, and let the conversation do the rest.

Group Insight Report
An aggregate, de-identified snapshot of a cohort, class, or team. It shows how personal intelligence is distributed across the group so you can design support that fits.
- Summarises emotional, social, and motivational patterns for the group.
- Shows where people are well-resourced and where they may struggle.
- Helps you choose themes for workshops, curricula, or debriefs.
- Ideal for leadership cohorts, literacy programmes, and organisational training.
This is where the MIPI Coaching App becomes a curriculum design partner rather than just a one-to-one tool.

These conversations are not sales calls. They exist so your feedback and worries can shape how the app grows.
What the MIPI Coaching App is — and what it isn’t.
Clear boundaries
- It is not a diagnostic or clinical tool.
- It does not replace mental health care.
- It does not label people as “types” or “fixed personalities”.
- It does not speak directly to your clients.
It is a structured, research-aligned way to see how someone is navigating emotion, connection, and motivation — so you can support their growth more thoughtfully.
Data, privacy, and AI
Client data is encrypted and used only to generate the reports and views you request. It is not used for profiling or sold to third parties. The AI assistant works only with the information you choose to share with it and is there to support your judgement, not override it.
